Mr Cho Ramaswamy on India Interacts

Posted in Uncategorized by realitycheck on April 8, 2007

First some interesting links.

1. Check out Barbarindians’ analysis of available statistics.  You can see it is quite easy to arrive at a conclusion that is equal to a mathematical absurdity.

2. The UPA government (led by the Congress party) has halted admissions to all  IIT/IIMs/ and premier medical colleges until further notice. Yes, all admissions including the general category, SC (Dalits) and ST.  Why block all admissions, when there are no legal problems with general category seats ?  Why block the legally valid SC/ST quota students ? The court in its stay has clearly specified that the order did not impact the existing SC/ST reservations in any way.

See Mr Cho Ramaswamy’s forthright views on reservation on the excellent India Interacts website. (Click on link below)

(How can I put the video inside a box on this blog ? It doesnt seem to work with the WordPress software.)

There are other videos on the India Interacts site, check them out as well.

Thanks to Mr N Murugan IAS for bringing us these videos.

// Why block all admissions, when there are no legal problems with general category seats ?//

That is the feudals re-asserting their feudal rights. They go first – whether it is a temple in TN or IIT/IIM. If they dont go first, nobody goes.

Please do see my comment at Barb’s.

See my blog. The demand had come from a minister representing DMK. The pro-OBC lobby consisiting of DMK,MDMK supported by left and DK
is putting enormous pressure on the UPA govt. in this issue.

To put in a video, turn off the “visual editor”. Put in the video code while you are in the “code editor” mode. Done.

You can turn on visual editor again, but you can never edit this post in the visual editor mode – it will kill the video.

I fear for Mr. Ramaswamy’s safety.

Thanks for the tip, but I was not able to make it happen !

I was able to turn off the visual editor. Next, I tried to edit the post. The editor opened up showing the html version. I didnt see any “code editor” button (or tab) at all. BTW: I tried clicking the “code” button, that just inserted a HTML tag called into the editor window.

When I pasted the embed code from India Interacts, the text was removed upon saving.

    Okay thats freaky behaviour.

Who will file the necessary PILs? We need at a minimum 3 PILs. One for illegally stopping admissions by a Dalit thus denying him his constitutional rights, one for not allowing a particular caste member for excluding him without available data on his caste and one for a Brahmin from a rural district in TN where literacy rates are dirt low.

I suggest starting a fund to file these PILs. These are necessary for ensuring the continuance of democracy.

  8. realitycheck said, on April 8, 2007 at 5:38 pm

The PM doesnt like the “rampant use of PILs”

Read the current CJIs response, outstanding.

Except the first case, the others will probably be clubbed with existing ones. We have to see how long admissions are stopped for Dalits/STs/Generals due to the stay on OBC quotas.

Very odd. Ok, go to your profile page in WordPress (WP) and turn off the visual editor.

Now, go back to the post. You are now in non-visual/code/html mode (no need to look for anything else and no need to hit the code button).

Pick where you want the code to go. Paste the code. Hit save. Do you still lose it? You shouldn’t – I had this problem where WP ate the code, but not in the html version. If that doesn’t work, try to insert “" and "” (without the quotes) around the imbed data and see if that works.

Btw, I think you will like this —
It is all the demographic data of the US from 1940. Amazing stuff…

  10. Shripriya said, on April 9, 2007 at 2:11 am

damn – it ate the code. I was saying insert and without the spaces. If you can’t see it, email me through my blog and I will email it to you.

  11. Shripriya said, on April 9, 2007 at 2:12 am

Final try. I was trying to say put in code and /code in these

  12. Shripriya said, on April 9, 2007 at 2:15 am

Request – please compress all these into one comment, please 🙂

So, put code and /code at the beginning and end of the imbed code, but you have to put each in the triangular parentheses (the ones that look like greater than and lesser than signs). Phew… there it is. Terrible that you can’t use those symbols even within quotes. They always get eaten.

There goes our ambition and painstaking effort of decades to acquire the 29th state down the drain:

If you are trying to insert special characters in comments, you have to use %gt; and <, i.e. escaped characters. I think confused has examples of YouTube videos on his site. I just tried the Cho video, didn’t seem to work. There could be a way, fundamentally there is no difference.

I saw this one off article about how defiant the whole Indian govt system is going against the Supreme Court’s orders. It’s distressing to say the least !

Did any one managed to get the link??

Looks like this reservation is unintentionally helping Tambrams despite the fervent wishes of the likes of the Karus to grind them into the ground. Last week it was V. Anand who became No. 1 in Chess. Now Professor Varadhan wins the Abel Prize for Mathematics (Nobel Prize equivalent by the same Nobel foundation). I personally could not get into PSG Tech in Coimbatore, but got into IIT-Bombay and thank the TN govt for reservations which forced me to study hard and go to IIT even though I lost one year.

By the way has anyone noticed there has been no award or any ceremony for Anand, or any congratulations from the TN govt? Now just imagine if he had been from some other “OBC” caste, there would have been all kinds of accolades from the TN govt. Really despicable bunch of scoundrels and idiots. Here is the link to Dr. Varadan’s award. No amount of hate-filled discriminatory legislation is going to win in the end. There are no shortcuts in life, particulsarly if you want to be the very best in the entire world.

Thanks a ton for your help. Sounds too complicated.

Thanks for the link about the American demographic chart. Excellent.

It doesnt bother me that these acheivers are not given due respect in TN due to their caste. No one has a right to “being felicitated for achievements”. Bad taste – yes ! Projecting Tamil society in a poor light – Yes !

The only issue is that these hate instincts are used to deny the constitutional right to equality for millions.

I read the article from a compiled book of Delhi University “ CULTURE IN INDIA:ANCIENT”. Which contains an article “Three Hundred Ramayanas : ….’ Is taught in University of Delhi in B.A. (hons) 2nd year. This article is published in various books by Oxford University and Berkeley University of California. It is written by A.K. Ramanujan , edited by Vinay Dharwadker, Paula Richman, USA etc.
The article contains chapter “WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LISTEN” i.e. Ramayana (page 44) .A story of a lady whose husband was not good therefore she sends him to listen Ramayana daily and the man goes there and sleeps. As usual in the morning when he gets up some thing is given i.e. parshad (sweets etc.) and he eats. Every day when his wife would ask him about the Story how it was? He would reply it was as sweet as per the taste of Parshad and so on writer quotes such remarks and gives absurd remark “One day early in the morning, a dog came that way and pissed into his mouth a little before he woke up and went home”. When his wife asked him how it was, he said “Terrible, it was so salty” (article page 47). The writer says links these instances to “This what happens when any one hears specially Ramayana” (article page 48). It is a cooked story to humiliate Hindu devotees, and this is what is taught by our teachers of University of Delhi.
I doubted the truthfulness of the story because – Indian lady will never send her husband out alone at night and remain herself back . Since it is a scholarly written I thought and concluded it is foreign Richwoman married to some Hindu. When she got exhausted after attempting all other means she tried this method.
An problematic disturbance started in my mind regarding ‘The taste of dog’s urine, how it is said and confirmed by all above great personalities that it was SALTY’. As a rule and moral ethics nothing can be printed without proper verification and authenticity. As for as University is concerned they are supposed to teach the facts and morals as they are finaced by public funds, I told myself that they are all educated and renowned persons so believe it was SALTY.
I took my friend a doctor to temple as usual on Tuesday , I got Parsad and gave some to dogs as others were doing. He got annoyed Can’t you see all dogs here are infected with Sugar and are with skin problem. Why government stops giving eatable to animals at zoo and at places near Forests. Sugar is very harmful to them.
I took his help and I told him entire story of this article. He laughed at me , and asked : Who is the writer? I said- An Indian (A.K.Ramanujan) He:- Where he has written? I replied:-in USA. Then he asked, who others are evolved? I named other editors and the Universities. Have you not seen any films produced in foreign lands showing humans and animals doing odd carnal acts and enjoying. I told him to stop nonsense; I do not want to hear more. He said don’t get annoyed, but tell if it is a true story then at Ram Lila the dogs are given sweets by every one and in that case the Urine of Dogs should have been sweeter, How it said it is Salty? Why not sweet? From this you can conclude it is a concoct story which is blended in Barkley, tasted in Oxford, approved in Delhi University.
He told as a doctor we have tests for Sugar and for other tastes like salty, sour etc. one has to TASTE them to know the real taste , so all they have taste of Dog’s Urine . As per the skin problem visible on these dogs, I am sure that these Dogs are all infected by sugar.
If 3 Universities and other big writers are telling it is Salty, say O.K., they can’t write without TASTING IT. He was insisting too much on this point of TASTING done by all of them.
I preferred to believe that it was SALTY surely they have all tasted it or have the taste of Dog’s Urine by experience, more over all above persons who have resources to buy trained dogs for such enjoyments and carnal acts, so they know better and hence no need to contest their declaration on the taste of Dog’s Urine they are certainly DOG’S UNRINE TASTERS. (D.U.T.)
I came to know that Worthy Dr. Radhakrishan, President of India will be a direct telecast on All India Radio when I was in 9th class so I left school, went home, put high volume on radio. I heard very carefully entire lecture on Indian Philosophy and heard clearly a very important line that ‘to educate without religious education is nothing more them is to but make first class fools’. I heard clapping on the Radio for a long time . This was a turning point of my life and I pledged to read only good books in future. One may agree or not it is deeply engraved in my heart from my childhood.

    With best regards

      Hi Anil Bali,

I was so thrilled in the to read from your mail ‘to educate without religious education is nothing more them is to but make first class fools’.

D.U.T conclusion was excellent. But very sad that Universities are so concerned to project Ramayana in a negative manner.

Better just to ignore those insects and we should pay more attention to do some fruitful work.

      With Best Regards,
      Venkat – Abu Dhabi.
