Reality Check India

We are expire !

Posted in Uncategorized by realitycheck on January 5, 2008

Today, Jyoti Basu made these astounding remarks –

We want capital, both foreign and domestic. After all we are working in a capitalist system. Socialism is not possible now,” he said in response to a question after a meeting of the party’s state secretariat.

Ok fine, whatever.

“We had spoken about building up a classless society, but that was a long time ago,” he said.

Whoa, wait a minute. So, why should anyone vote for you now ? You admit to have your primary platform miserably wrong for 60 years. What else could you have messed up, the public wonders. The BJP and Congress also offer capitalistic policies, without any of the baggage. The public might think that you are just “expired goods”.

Let us examine his abandoning of the “classless society” :

You can be naive and think he is referring to the working class.  You can also think like a true desi and conclude he is just talking about the great “caste-religion” block as a class.

The CPI-M in West Bengal appear to be envious of their Kerala cousins. Their branch in Kerala is just another caste/religion based party which have large masses tied to concrete benefits. They seem to be having all the fun.

Anyone want to guess where this is all heading ?

    RC,

Jyoti Basu’s remarks are a continuation of what Buddha had said two days earlier:

Taking a U-turn from the Left demand for nationalisation of industries in the ’60s, he made out a strong case for capitalist industrialisation at the 42nd anniversary of the CPM’s Bengali mouthpiece, ‘Ganashakti’, on Thursday.

“Some people say industrialisation is fine. But will that be a socialist mode? For them, I would like to say that industrialisation in West Bengal has to follow the capitalist course. I am aware of the sweat and tears that capital brings with it, but there is no way out. Where from shall we get the money? Our government doesn’t have funds,” he said, clearing pointing to the sea change in the CPM’s mindset till the ’80s when bourgeois was a dirty word. He wants Left Front partners to appreciate the changing times and take a pragmatic stand on agriculture and industry.

It seems like all the news from China is causing strain for the cadre. This must have started with the explosion of media reach in India.

As you rightly pointed out, it takes a certain amount of brazenness to say, oops, sorry, we were in the wrong for the last 60 years. You could have lived a better life without the abject misery and squalor. In many countries this is followed by a bloody coup. We won’t see that there though.

    LOL !!

The media seems to lap up these kind of “Sorry we fucked you up so bad” apologies. No more questions it seems.

I think Karan Thapar, Barkha and others were after Modi for just this kind of “Awright sorry shit happened” apology.

Exactly, this gives these a$$holes a feeling of moral superiority. You just beat the shit out of these idiots, rape their women in front of their eyes, kill their children and kick their dads and moms, and simply say, SORRY.

You are free to go. They wont complain.

They are happy that you said Sorry to him! Such a great man, you are!

This is the mentality that wants to glorify a mass murderer like Aurangazeb.

    http://www.hinduonnet.com/fline/fl1723/17230220.htm A communist forever

Unfortunately for the mimic Marx (that’s what V.S. Naipaul dubs Jyoti Basu) the internet despite the best efforts of his bootlickers and cheerleaders and mouthpieces preserves words forever.

Here is Jyoti Basu quoted by the reporter in the article dt/ Nov. 11 – 24, 2000. Jyoti Basu pointed out that Communists did not retire. They retained their political conviction throughout their lives, he said. He added that this was true in his case too and that he would continue to help his party in a manner his health permitted. Looks like Jyoti Basu’s mental health is in question – all secrets are tumbling out. What a hypocrite and rank opportunist this man has been. From being an informant for the colonial admin. during the Quit India movement, to practising thod-phod rajniti in WB during the late 1960s to sucking up to IG during the Emergency while JP, the Socialists, and the ABVP/Jan Sangh rotted in jail, to presiding over a “workers’ paradise” all the while enjoying his summers in London, this man is a total sham and cheat.

Chinese communist party still swears by marxism and socialism. So do the CPI(M). Only thing is things dont mean what they meant earlier and
these commies better accept it openly. Will they have the honesty to declare that marxism, stalinism and maoism are obsolete today.
